i know the answer: MORE spending

here's an interesting site.

go ahead, run the numbers. the correlation between spending-per-student and graduation rates is 0.21. very weak.

get this: the correlation between public school per-student spending and SAT scores is stronger and...

NEGATIVE
!

so i guess people who don't want to pour more money into public schools just don't care about kids, do they?

oh, no i did-int!

That is a great link. We have one in Texas, as I am sure you are well aware in the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

As to your comments you are right on and have stumbled onto the real issue of where money is being spent.

I believe that when we see money being poured into schools we are not seeing it directed towards the students and education but rather on administration in the form of 12 principles 6 vice principles 2 counselors, band uniforms, eight well balanced meals per day and something no school should be with out, a football field with a jumbotron to match the ballooning budget.

The folks that don't want to spend more money on public education are more likely calling for more accountability on where monies are spent. Funny how they are demonized.

Note: Public education costs more than private education in some cases.
